the fifteen project accepts a wide variety of content. please feel free to submit anything that can reasonably be displayed within the pages of the magazine. below are some guidelines for the types of art we receive frequently, based on what has worked in the past, and what keeps things manageable for us. for submissions that don't fit any of the guidelines below, please email a brief proposal explaining the parameters of the work (any and all of the following that apply: dimensions, file type and size, length in time or words) and the major thematic elements. before submitting, please also read the legalese at the bottom of this page.
contents

poetry please submit no more than 3 poems at a time, and we will publish up to 3 per author per issue.
fiction we publish one short story per submission. short stories should be no more than 3,000 words.
reviews as a matter of editorial policy, the 15p generally does not publish unsolicited reviews, however, please feel free to submit critical reviews of almost any media. our word limit is 2,000 words.
works for review if you would like to have an event or artwork reviewed in the fifteen project, please query by email. our ability to review events is somewhat limited geographically, but give it a shot, who knows.
graphic art we accept all forms of static graphic images, including but not limited to photography, drawing and painting. submissions should be workable to 455 by 297 pixels or smaller. please submit images in jpeg, bitmap, .gif or .psd format.
audio/video audio should be submitted as mp3 files; video should be submitted as .wav, shockwave, flash or windows media. otherwise, please query to make sure we'll have the capacity to present your work.
non-fiction in general, the fifteen project publishes art-related or critical non-fiction, but that is not intended to discourage submission of other types of works. we are also interested in political or historical essays, philosophy, and anything else, if they present an interesting viewpoint or idea. our space is limited, though. please restrict submissions to 3,500 words. please query before sending longer works.
electronic submissions are preferred; please email them to submissions@fifteenproject.com. files may be attached. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please query by email.
the fifteen project cannot, at this time, pay for submissions. publication is the only compensation we can provide. maybe in the future.
the legalese: as far as rights are concerned, the fifteen project acquires first american rights, which revert to the author on publication. however, all works published in the magazine may be reprinted in future anthologies, and submission is considered acceptance of these terms. We also request that whenever works are published after they have appeared in the fifteen project, that this journal be cited.
